VZ has a separate procedure for a declaration of residency under Article 21 WNI. The application is made on behalf of the minor child by the legal representative.

Who supplies which documents?

The legal representative

  • Proof of residence/establishment or a nationality declaration
  • Document showing legal representation
  • Identity document
  • CBB registration declaration
  • Completed request form on behalf of the minor

Proof of legal representation may, according to the source, consist of a guardianship decision, a deed of recognition, a guardianship judgment or an adoption judgment.

The other parent

  • Passport or nationality declaration to establish nationality

The minor

  • Passport
  • Legalised birth certificate

What happens after submission?

According to the old VZ instructions, you will immediately see a registration confirmation on screen, receive an e-mail within 24 hours and be asked to respond to that confirmation e-mail within 48 hours. To be confirmed by VZ
